Wyse is the Global Market-Share Leader in Thin Computing for the 40th Consecutive Quarter

Thin Computing Value Proposition Enhanced by Large Enterprise Desktop Virtualization Deployments Spurs 45% Category Growth Over Q1 2005

Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, continues to hold the leading market share worldwide according to the first quarter 2006 report published by IDC ("IDC Enterprise Thin-Client Q-View, Q106," Document #202068, June 2006). "With the thin-client category growing at nearly 45% in Q1 2006, clearly the value proposition of improved security, lower management costs, and better ROI is resonating with IT managers who are choosing a thin-computing architecture over traditional desktop PCs," said Bob O'Donnell, Program Vice President of Clients and Displays at IDC.

Wyse remains the worldwide market-share leader followed by HP and Neoware. Wyse leads with 44% market share in the United States, 35% in Asia Pacific, and 27% in Western Europe. Given the ever-rising management costs and the need to comply with regulatory guidelines, IT organizations are being pushed to have greater control over their desktops. The Wyse thin-computing solution, with its industry-leading thin clients and management and deployment software suite, is allowing IT managers to easily deploy thin clients and devices throughout their organizations.

"Thin computing continues to grow in interest and implementation because it makes economic and organizational sense. IT departments want to reduce cost and risk, while delivering an infrastructure that's always on, but never seen," said Tarkan Maner, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Wyse. "Our commitment is to continue to give our customers the easiest to manage, most secure desktop solution available anywhere."
