October and November were exciting months! We announced our new comprehensive thin-computing software suite at Citrix iForum in Orlando, FL. These new offerings simplify the deployment and management of thin-computing infrastructure with reduced cost. Wyse Streaming Manager (WSM) 1.2 and Wyse Device Manager (WDM) 4.5, are two essential components of Wyse’s comprehensive thin computing infrastructure management and provisioning software suite designed to bring greater cost efficiency, reliability, manageability and security —in organizations of all sizes.
At Citrix iForum Global 2006, we showed how thin computing is providing the link between shared and terminal services technologies like Citrix, and the concepts of Enterprise Desktop Virtualization being discussed by VMware, IBM and others. We're working closely with each of these vendors to show our customers how to mix the leading technologies of shared/terminal services, enterprise desktop virtualization (EDV), and OS and Application streaming.
Speaking of streaming, if you've ever wanted your thin desktops, or existing PCs could do more, but with less, read on. Wyse Streaming Manager is a powerful server-software used by business and educational institutions to eliminate the management of compatible thin and PC desktops by making them stateless. This means lower cost thin clients, and the ability to bypass or ignore the HDD in a PC, solving many security problems. In addition to the management benefits, WSM enables real-time delivery of the OS and applications to the desktop, including Windows XP embedded, Windows 2000 pro and Windows XP pro. This new capability creates a full, no-compromise PC experience for the user, and enables the use of the broadest array of PC-based business or educational software titles, including rich animation, multimedia sound and video, on simple, stateless, thin computers. Most exciting is that this product is completely compatible with Citrix's advanced functionality, and the announcements made at the show.

Wyse Introduces the First Thin Computing Reference Platform for EDV at VMworld in Los Angeles
At VMworld, in Los Angeles, Wyse announced the availability of the first in a series of Thin Computing Reference Platforms designed for OEM partners looking to incorporate thin-computing technology into their product portfolios. The first Thin Computing Reference Platform from Wyse is targeted at the success of VDI, The Wyse Reference Platform for Desktop Virtualization. This new solution provides the robust software you need to deliver advanced desktop features, video streaming, multimedia, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and peripheral virtualization and enhance the performance and capabilities of your thin computers to deliver a richer user video experience at a fraction of the cost.
Wyse also announced that NEC will be the first OEM partner leveraging this new reference platform. In a related announcement, NEC is introducing the NEC US100 desktop terminal, based on Wyse's Reference Platform for Desktop Virtualization, and powered by Wyse Thin OS.
